Testimonials From Our Community

College Guild's unique correspondence program offers many benefits to both volunteers and incarcerated students.

For students, taking courses and receiving personal feedback offers a sense of enrichment and respect in an environment that often treats them as sub-human. For readers, volunteering with College Guild provides satisfying work and a new perspective on incarceration in America.

FROM A STUDENT

 Daniel

“Please know that you make me feel 'real.' That sounds stupid maybe, but to have someone want to really learn and to read something I put on paper made me remember my life before. For a while, I was who I once was, not a number, not a face, but the real Daniel. Thank you for that.”

Our mission is to provide free correspondence courses that connect incarcerated people with a community beyond prison walls, fostering mutual respect through a shared passion for learning. Research has shown that incarcerated people who have participated in prison education programs have a 50%-reduced chance of returning to prison.
